Book club - Tipping Point and Truth

"The Tipping Point" finally made it to the top of my stack, and I did enjoy reading it. Probably most relevant for folk in the marketing business, but fascinating for anyone - particularly with the fine case studies they dissected. Good book.

Up next is another book that I've been meaning to read for some time. I've gotten about 1/3 of the way through it, and it is living up to very high expectations. "The Truth (with jokes)" by Al Franken is, of course, very frustrating to read. It helps you to understand just how low politics can sink, and there are lot of blind faith dittoheads out there that could use some enlightening. For me, besides increasing blood pressure, it's important to know thy enemy.

How wet was it?

Yes, the rumors were true, we had an extremely wet August here in Wisconsin, and parts of the state had some serious flooding. We were spared any flooding, and the foundation repair held, and the basement stayed dry. We did, however, end up with some rather striking crops in our lawn.

Now, just how wet was it? Well, the previous wettest months on record were all 10 point something inches of rain. In August, we received over 15 inches - 50% more than the wettest months ever recorded. Uff-da.

New pictures, with ultrasound

It's been a little while, so here's a wealth of pictures. More pictures have been added to the month seventeen page, and a new page for the Buffalo trip has been added as well.

There's even a bonus video of Evie showing off her newly discovered dancing talent. It might have been a little early for a singing Christmas elf, but it sure inspired the moves!

We had a great trip, and managed not to pack on too many pounds - always a challenge in the land of wings. Evie's mood was mostly good on the plane rides, and she played extensively with Granny Z and the rest of her long-distance family and friends.

In other Evie news, she continues to grow in every growing kid way, and has adjusted perfectly to her new daycare.

Plus here's a bonus picture. The first ultrasound look at Evie's second birthday present. We're getting her a sibling!

Baby-to-be-named-later is doing great. Projected due date is 4/17/08.
